Elle Norway Plate

Another of my plates with the stylized flowers designed by MI (or M1?). This one is larger than yesterday's and had a different painter - I like the work of "S" on this plate a little bit more!

Elle Norway Plate

I have a few plates with this simple floral design, and I really like them. Based on my understanding of the back markings, the shape number for this size plate is 550; the original designer is "MI" (their initials?); and the person who actually painted this piece is "P."  I saw another example of this plate and design with identical markings but a different painter, and both places had the number 2113, so I wonder if that is the number of this particular design-?

I have two other examples in yellow that I'll post in the coming days.

Bing and Grondahl Marsvin

This is one of the porcelain figures that my grandma gave me at Easter when I was younger.  It is a guinea pig (marsvin) by Bing and Grøndahl.  The bottom is marked with the logo, shape number (2490), and the initials TR.   Based on the logo, this was made between 1970 and 1983.  In addition, the clay has some incised letters that look like K and the pi symbol (π).

Souvenir Sandnes Plates by Figgjo

My grandma brought these souvenir plates back from one of her trips to Norway, probably in the 1950s based on the mark on the back.  They each say "Greetings from Sandnes."  I think this is the first time I've seen a Figgjo Flint sticker, too.

Rune Pattern by Nissen

This is an eBay purchase that arrived today.  We didn't necessarily need another set of dishes, but 40 pieces of Nissen dinnerware in the Rune pattern for only $30 was too good to pass up!  I didn't really know what to expect when we bought them, and the pictures made the pieces look a little dull, but in person the glazes and shapes are really nice!  Jens Quistgaard designed other patterns for Nissen/Kronjyden/Bing and Grondahl (like the Relief pattern), but I'm not sure if he also designed this.

Terra Norway Plate

I got this plate mainly because it has a really nice mark on the bottom, compared to the other Terra pieces I have.  It does have a nice folk-quality to it, though.

Elle Plate

I found another piece with a scenic design by Arvid Furuheim similar to the vase I have by him.

Porsgrund Platter

One of my grandma's Porsgrund platters.  The back is marked with the year (1966) and Handmåla T. Rønjom (Hand painted T. (I think Torstein) Rønjom).
