More Christmas before it's boxed away

The Christmas tree came down this weekend and is now at the curb.  Here are a few more pictures of Christmas to tide us over until next year.

The tomte is by Rolf Berg from Sweden.  The blue and white ball is a Royal Copenhagen ornament.

Christmas Decorations

One of our kitchen shelves with a Nittsjö bird, Rolf Berg tomte, and a Rörstrand covered pot.  Tomorrow the tree is coming down, really.  We got these two flag ornaments this year - the Norwegian flag for my heritage, and the Italian flag for my partner.

A little more God Jul

My small collection of  Bing and Grøndahl God Jul plates (with one Royal Copenhagen plate and a B&G Mors Dag plate, too): my grandpa's birth year plate from 1910, my grandma's from 1919 (Royal Copenhagen), my aunt Mary's plate from 1944, my plate from 1970, the plate from my mom's first Mors Dag in 1971, and my partner's plate from 1963.

The Christmas decorations are coming down this weekend.  Our cat Monty is lounging below the window lights and straw ornaments.

My mom's Lisa Larson tomte (or would it be nisse?).  The picture of the base is delightfully blurry...but it says Lisa L, K-Studion, Gustavsberg, Sweden.

Emerging from Christmas

My partner surprised me with the Figgjo book ("Formet av Entusiasme Gjennom 60 År: 1941-2001" (literal translation, hmmm: "Shaped by the Enthusiasm over 60 Years")), ordered by emailing the company store in Figgjo, Norway where we were last spring (quite resourceful of him, I thought).  Our friend Lisa gave us our first piece in the Tor Viking pattern by Figgjo Flint, a fun casserole.  The marks are under the lid, and the clay on the body is quite different so that it can be oven-safe.

Our Christmas china is the Winter Greetings pattern by Lenox (not Scandinavian!?) that we bought about 10 years ago.  And our festive Christmas tablecloth this year is a Marimekko pattern called Taikamylly from Crate and Barrel.

More snow today!  We had some post-shoveling hot cocoa.  The Porsgrund mugs in the Farmers Rose pattern were my grandma's.

It's Christmas week, so things will probably be different.  This is my favorite of the wrapping paper from Ikea this year.

We put the Marimekko Kanteleen Kutsu cards in little frames and used the sticky 3M hooks to hang them on the wall (we really wanted some of the fabric, but the cards are a bit more affordable!).  Some of Christmas-themed Rolf Berg tomten are on the sideboard.

This was a gift from my mom.  We had him for several years before we really became aware of (and obsessed with collecting) Lisa Larson.
