Stelton Erik Magnussen Carafe

My mom has had one of these thermal carafe's for years, and this year she gave one to us for Christmas!  It's produced by Stelton of Denmark, and the designer is Erik Magnussen.  It has such a simple design, but with great little details, like the curve of the handle.  And the stopper on the top is perfect - no turning to figure out if it's open or not.  It has a counterweight, so that as soon as you pour, it opens.

  1. I love the design of this carafe! A real classic, whith increasing popularity during the last years. As a child I called it "the penguin caraffe", as I thought the black dot at the top looked like an eye, and the spout looked like a beak :-)

I stumbled across your blog a while ago, while googling for Norwegian stoneware. Since then I have become a regular reader. I must say I am impressed by both your collection and your knowledge of Scandinavian ceramics!

Best regards one of your Norwegian fans.
